Master Products has been in the metal stamping business since 1919. Obviously, a lot has changed in the world of precision manufacturing over the last 100 years. We thought you might enjoy taking a trip down memory lane with us to see how Master Products has evolved with the times.

From a three-man operation in a 4,400 square-foot shop a century ago to the state-of-the-art 66,000 square-foot precision stamping facility that we call home today, Master Products has come a long way in staying on the cutting edge of the manufacturing industry.

Looking Back at Our Roots in Precision Metal Stamping

It was 1919 and World War I had just ended. America was riding the crest of the Second Industrial Revolution straight into the Roaring ‘20s. That’s when Master Products laid its roots.

It began as a close three-man operation. Our founders – Walter Bohn along with brothers Carl and Cornelius Walters – rose to the challenges of the new peacetime economy and set up shop in Cleveland, Ohio.

They bought a 4,400 square-foot facility that set them back a grand total of $900. Then they got to work stamping, manufacturing quality stamped washers, custom stampings, and associated products for a variety of industrial applications. Master Products quickly made a name for itself as a premier manufacturer of precision metal components, and the rest is history.

Today, the 66,000 square-foot Master Products facility is a very different place.

Most of the pens and paper have been replaced by micrometer-precise engineering software. A lot of the hand tools have been upgraded to digitally automated machines. And our 52 state-of-the-art presses are a bit more powerful, capable of operating at pressure of 15 to 250 tons.

However, our dedication to quality, consistency and customer service remains the cornerstone of our business just like it was over a century ago.
