IATF 16949:2016 Certified American Metal Stamping Solutions

Master Products Is Now IATF Certified, Offering Superior Automotive Metal Stamping and Contract Manufacturing Services

As an ISO 9001:2015 certified American manufacturer, Master Products strives to go above and beyond in guaranteeing absolute quality and consistency through all of our metal-stamped products. That’s why we’ve worked hard to achieve our latest IATF 16949:2016 certification, exemplifying our excellence in the field of automotive parts production.

What Is IATF 16949 Certification?

Originally drafted back in 1999 by the International Automotive Task Force (IATF), the goal of this specialized certification is to harmonize the many different certification programs and quality assessment systems used throughout the global automotive industry. In doing so, it aims to standardize many of the production processes used in automotive manufacturing, thereby also standardizing the results in both quality and consistency.

IATF 16949:2016 Quality Standards and Requirements

IATF 16949 certification

In other words, IATF 16949:2016 creates a baseline for the quality you can expect when contracting out your automotive metal stamping project. Much of the literature focuses on the prevention of defects and production variances, as well as minimizing scrap and waste. All of which fall right in line with Master Products’ lean manufacturing principles, simplifying both the supply chain and the assembly processes.

The Three Primary Aims of IATF 16949 Certification:

  • Improve both the quality and consistency of products as well as the manufacturing processes that go into them. Added benefits include reduced production costs and long-term sustainability.

  • Through proven consistency and accountability, IATF certified metal stamping providers gain “supplier of choice” status amongst leading automotive manufacturers, establishing a stronger, more reliable supply chain.

  • The quality requirements of IATF 16940:2016 are designed to seamlessly integrate with industry-wide ISO certification standards, including Master Products’ ISO 9001:2015 Certification.

You can learn more about the specific requirements laid out by the IATF 16949 Certification system at the International Automotive Task Force (IATF)’s official website.

What Does Our IATF Certification Mean for Your Custom Metal Stampings?

Our ISO 9001:2015 quality management system is perfect for the manufacturing of a standard product, where we focus on your custom specifications through our build-to-print services.

In contrast, IATF 16949:2016 takes those ISO disciplines a step further. It demands increased attention to the customer – your unique production needs, expectations, requirements, concerns etc. It therefore coincides perfectly with Master Products’ ongoing emphasis on responsive manufacturing solutions, continuously aimed at superior customer service.

Superior American Metal Stamping Solutions for 102 Years and Counting

Founded all the way back in 1919, Master Products has provided a versatile range of in-house metalworking solutions for more than a century. Over the course of the decades, our company has evolved from a small-town 4,400 sq.-foot metal stamping shop into the 110,000 sq.-foot, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility that it is today. Nevertheless, we remain family-owned, family-operated, and fully dedicated to your custom metal parts production right here in Cleveland, Ohio.

4,400 Square Feet of Manufacturing Space Costed a Mere $900 in 1919

Those numbers are correct – the bill of sale for the original Master Products facility was only $900. Adjusted for inflation, that’s roughly $14,000 in 2021 – quite the bargain for a 4,400 sq.-ft American metal stamping facility.

Obviously, the metal stamping industry has come quite a long way over the last century. The precision metalworking technology of today is not only far more expensive, it’s far more sophisticated and capable, requiring more careful skill and craftsmanship than ever before.

That’s why Master Products has committed to remaining on the cutting edge of the domestic stamping industry. We practice lean manufacturing methods which result in quality, cost-effective products – all designed and produced in the USA.

Master Products Today: 110,000 sq.-ft Facility w/ 52 High-Power Presses

Today, our cutting-edge manufacturing facility is outfitted with 52 presses varying in capacity from 15 to 250 tons of efficient metal stamping force.

The versatility of our production equipment, backed by the industry’s latest CAD design tools, enables Master Products to provide both the precision and horsepower that your custom stamped products demand. From the development of custom tooling solutions to turnkey assembly and packaging services, we provided flexible ways to maximize quality, save costs and truly optimize your production.
